GoPro cameras are on board as base jumpers explore some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world. This video by Melbourne based design studio Betty Wants In explores the mountainous regions of Norway, Switzerland and France where launch pads reach as high as 6,000 feet. Some parts of the video were shot at 60 frames per second and slowed down to mimic the effect of zero gravity to inspire awe and reverence towards the rarely seen views of our environment.
A little while ago we posted a video Lamborghini Aventador By Sehsucht. Now it’s time for Weareflink to take a stab at creating some unique for the same product. The video features a morphing shiny black lifeform which transforms from parts of the car, to type, and jagged shards and shapes. It’s a really well executed video that takes a different spin from the one created by Sehsucht.
NDesign Rio is a national gathering of design oriented students and professionals. This video gives the impression that you’re watching a very standard series of images but yet once you realize its subtle abnormalities they begin to be more prominent. These every day visuals are warped, digitally manipulated and altered to create interest throughout the timeline of the film. The sound design adds to the mystery of the city and creates rhythm with only subtle variations in intensity.
You have to see this live action film based on Valve’s Portal 2 game. The special effects and soundscapes are one thing but even without a single spoken word the acting is what brings this video to the level that it’s at. If you’ve ever played the game then you’ll know exactly how she must have felt when she realized her perceived freedom is only a digital camouflage.
I’ve seem some artists that have used paper to create beautiful type, but Bianca Chang gives a new twist to the art. She cuts each letter in increments or steps, giving the effect of spiraling staircases, black holes and radiating rays. The effect is really unique giving varying depths to the letterforms. The video features the creation of the letters in stop-motion. Check out her portfolio at biancachang.com
If you’re into intense cinematic visuals, destructive covers of timeless classics and in your face rhythmic pacing then you’ll enjoy this trailer for the upcoming movie The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. We first spotted this trailer during the opening of Planet of the Apes and you really have to see it in theatres on the biggest screen imaginable to get the full soul penetration that comes along with it. The soundtrack for the trailer is a cover of Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song, the latest piece of work by Trent Reznor and Karen O.
Award winning design studio, ENESS, has shared their latest work on Vimeo. MÖBIUS is a sculpture they created that simulates a triangle sinking and rotating into the ground. There is a total of 21 pieces to MÖBIUS and they comprised this video of stop motion photographs. Video is quite hypnotizing, when I watched it, my eyes were fixed on the cyclical movement. It reminded me of staring at the wave machines in physics class.
Envision is a film that takes place inside a box. What can possibly happen inside a box? You can experience a sensory manipulation that’ll knock your retinas into the atmosphere. We love this video because it left the viewers wondering how it was made. After Effects? Projection mapping? 3DS Max? Module 8? The comments are piling up.
Hello Strokes fans! Here’s the new single off the album, Angles. The music video for ‘Taken for a Fool’ is a constantly spinning plane with multiple clones of band members. If that wasn’t enough, they have this visualized effect for the city background that pulsates with the music. It’s a great track and fun video!
More of an ambient piece, Ljósið would be a perfect video to screen at a gallery or even at your next party. This is another perfect example of the smooth motion capabilities of After Effects and Trapcode Particular.
