Happycentro is a creative studio based in Verona, Italy. Their portfolio features a wide spectrum of designs and disciplines but these handcrafted type pieces really stood out to me. The amount of detail, depth, texture and use of colour really make these pieces a work of art. Check out their portfolio at www.happycentro.it

A little while ago we posted a video Lamborghini Aventador By Sehsucht. Now it’s time for Weareflink to take a stab at creating some unique for the same product. The video features a morphing shiny black lifeform which transforms from parts of the car, to type, and jagged shards and shapes. It’s a really well executed video that takes a different spin from the one created by Sehsucht.
I’ve seem some artists that have used paper to create beautiful type, but Bianca Chang gives a new twist to the art. She cuts each letter in increments or steps, giving the effect of spiraling staircases, black holes and radiating rays. The effect is really unique giving varying depths to the letterforms. The video features the creation of the letters in stop-motion. Check out her portfolio at biancachang.com
Came across Rémi Gaillard’s videos yesterday and it was probably 2 hours of non-stop laughing. While he seems to be terrorizing France, his pranks and skits are quite clever. The Pac-Man video of his is probably my favourite (of the ones I’ve seen). If you have time to kill be sure to check out all this videos at http://www.nimportequi.com/en/
Award winning design studio, ENESS, has shared their latest work on Vimeo. MÖBIUS is a sculpture they created that simulates a triangle sinking and rotating into the ground. There is a total of 21 pieces to MÖBIUS and they comprised this video of stop motion photographs. Video is quite hypnotizing, when I watched it, my eyes were fixed on the cyclical movement. It reminded me of staring at the wave machines in physics class.
Please forgive me for posting two Hedi Slimane posts, back to back, but these photos are much to awesome. Frances Bean Cobain is the daughter of the late rockstar Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love. Having just turned 19, Hedi Slimane, has captured her coming into adulthood and her American youth. Check out the complete photoset in his Diary.
In memory of a great artist, fashion designer and photographer, Hedi Slimane, has released a handful of images from his shoot with Amy Winehouse. These pictures were taken nearly 5 years ago, shortly after Back to Black was released. To pay tribute to Amy, he has re-released the set on his photo diary with a few additional photos that have not been published before.
Sachin is a great illustrator living in New York. His portfolio features select works that are executed perfectly. We really dig the desaturated colours and abstract bits that he incorporated into his work. Be sure to check out his portfolio at sachinteng.com
Hello Strokes fans! Here’s the new single off the album, Angles. The music video for ‘Taken for a Fool’ is a constantly spinning plane with multiple clones of band members. If that wasn’t enough, they have this visualized effect for the city background that pulsates with the music. It’s a great track and fun video!
Some people are never too old to play with Lego and Alex Eylar is one of them. Through the lens of his camera, he has found fun and creative ways to recreate famous movie scenes using Lego. Some of my favorites include Inception, The Shining, Pulp Fiction and Psycho. You can tell that Alex Eylar is a sucker for details because the scene setting, costumes and expressions are spot on. He’s got a lot of work up on his Flickr account and it’s easy to spend hours looking through his entertaining works!
Design and Illustration studio DKNG created a short 3 minutes video of the process of creating a concert poster for The Black Keys. The video takes you through their in-depth process of creating the art work using a combination of programs and techniques. After they split the into colour separation and the screen printing process – laying down each colour individually. It’s pretty intense process but these guys make it look easy!
Erik Spiekermann is world-known as a master of typography, design and modernism. So it comes as no surprise that his seven-story home in Berlin is somewhat of a masterpiece. Dwell Magazine were invited into his home which he shares with his wife and the photos had me drooling.
The cool greys throughout his home really make the wood accents pop! The floor to ceiling windows allow the sunlight to beam in and match the large doors on every floor. You’ll also find an amazing two-story book case that is complete with an automatic hoisting unit. If that wasn’t enough, he also has a printing press on the 4th floor – yup he loves type that much!
This infographic was created by Medical Billing and Coding spreading the word on how dangerous sitting at your desk all day can be. They point out some shocking facts and correlations between sitting and, well…death! But fear not, the infograph also provides some preventative solutions that we should all follow on a daily basis. Ironically, I’m sitting at my desk while I write this post…time to get up for a stretch!
